How to Go About Planning Your First Internet Business | Friends In ...

It is an accepted and often taken for granted, and thus not mentioned, that any technique you use in your business on the internet is only as effective as the person using it.

There are so many varied and highly unique methods to be found with online business, such as Amazon Money Machine review for example. It is just nature and the way life is that some will not be as able as others, and perhaps that is one thing so many do not like about business.

Perhaps so many get too concerned with the competition and others, and that causes them to lose focus and forget they have to tend to matters at home in their own business. People who have a lot of experience understand the need to have an open mind and pick up any little useful tidbits of knowledge.

So what you can do with that is be able to test, and you can do that powerfully if you have a complete grasp of what you are using.

Nobody likes to make mistakes and the stakes for getting it right are even higher in an Internet business. This means that planning out your online business ahead of time ought to be one of the smartest things you do. One of the best things you can do is realize how little you know and then exercise caution. Every person is different, obviously, and for some people it is just natural to toss everything to the wind.

The only thing you can do in this situation beyond wishing them well, but you need to learn from all of the people who have gone before you?that is how you will help yourself.

This article will teach you how to plan for your online business, most of which depends on where you go with your online marketing. As someone new to Internet Marketing, be careful about what you?re buying and how much of it you are buying.

So many people have fallen into the trap of thinking that reading about business means they are getting something done. This is only truly an issue if you do this all day every day. You have to learn, and you know ? there are several well known marketing forums where you can learn for free. So keep this in mind as you work at getting into the habit of staying within a budget. The most basic time management method is the to-do list. You?ve undoubtedly seen those long pads of paper with ?to-do? written at the top of them. It might seem like we?re making fun of them but they can be quite useful and you should get one. Each day, there are critical must-do items that better consist of marketing your business. There are some long term things that you?ll need to accomplish that are done through daily steps. You can let these lists be as basic or as complex as you like, as long as you actually use them.

Being a newbie in online business means that you are going to make mistakes. Trying to do everything simultaneously is about the worst mistake that you can make. Think about this in terms of how you are marketing your business. Pick something that you know how to do already or that is easy to learn and something that you know you can afford. Then be smart and focus on just that until you are starting to make a profit. You need to avoid having a bunch of different irons in the fire and trying to get everything done all at once. It?s better to pick one thing and work on it for as long as you want and as much as you want. There is quite a good reward involved with taking the time and effort to plan out your business correctly. You will learn so much that the next time you want to start a business, it will be (hopefully) so much easier. This is a process that you?re going to need to repeat each and every time that you start something new with a web based business. Also, every time you build this, you are going to need to do more things and you?ll be a lot more efficient and effective as well.

Day trading investing binary o?

Posted on May 30th, 2012 admin

Day trading investing binary options is probably the fastest growing investments of inclination amongst day traders. The high yields and rapid turnover associated with this relatively new investment has created quite a mix a day trading tables across the world.

The simple way to think of these binary trading fresh investments is to think of a light change. A light change has an on or off position. When the light is about, there is lightweight within the room. If the position is set to down, the room remains to be dark.

Trading binary options works similar to the way ? when the market moves upward (and you have bought a call), typically the trade with the funds. When the industry moves down and you simply hold a call, the position is recognized as out from the money and pays little or practically nothing.

A lot more had success investing binary options and like using them due to high yield, or rate associated with return on their investment strategies. Typically an all or nothing alternative like these will probably pay 60-75% yield for a in the cash position, and sometimes will pay just as much as the 15% return of authentic capital on self-proclaimed out from the money investments. Perhaps the can help.

Any $200 trade in a typical contract would probably pay $350 ($200 original investment plus 75% profit) for a 74% yielding investment. A unsuccessful trade might compensate $30 (15% with the original $200 investment).

You may have noticed that in the earlier example the trade it was given in a fixed amount ? my partner and i. e. two-hundred dollar. Some platforms are made to take tradings in these fixed portions much in a similar manner mutual fund orders are processed. This is an additional nice feature with this type of expenditure.

Insight: Butler's journey from trusted servant to accused Judas

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Just after dawn on Wednesday, May 23, Paolo Gabriele said goodbye to his wife, passed by the bedrooms of his three children and left to start another day in the service of the man Roman Catholics believe is the vicar of Christ on Earth.

By the end of the day, Pope Benedict's butler would be branded a traitor and some, including an Italian cardinal, would compare him to the most famous betrayer in history - Judas Iscariot, the man who turned Jesus over to the Romans.

Dark haired and handsome, Gabriele, 46, left his simple home on the third floor of a 1930s Vatican apartment block named after the 7th century monk Saint Egidio.

With the St Ann's Gate entrance, guarded by Swiss Guard in blue berets, to his back, he passed the Holy See's central post office on Via Del Belvedere, turned left to climb a stone stairway named after Pope Pius X, and walked up a flight of covered steps to enter the small Renaissance-era Courtyard of Sixtus V.

Here he used a key held by fewer than 10 people to enter an elevator that leads directly to the pope's private apartment on the third and top floor of the Apostolic Palace in the world's smallest state. Even cardinals can't use it.

Gabriele, said by those who know him to be a timid, reserved and shy man, is now at the centre of the worst crisis in Pope Benedict's pontificate.

His face has appeared on the front pages of newspapers all over the world, accused of being the source of leaked documents alleging serious Vatican corruption and cronyism in a scandal that has shaken the very centre of the Church.

To some - even if he is found guilty - he is an idealist who wanted to root out corruption in the Vatican and was helped by outside accomplices. To others, he is merely a pawn in a much bigger power struggle among cardinals inside the Vatican walls.

"I know Paolo and I don't think he is capable of doing something like this by himself," a person who spoke on the condition of anonymity told Reuters.

"It is clearly a betrayal of the pope's trust but I don't think he could have acted alone," that person said.

That Wednesday morning when Gabriele, dressed in a dark suit and white shirt, entered the private papal apartment, he walked down a corridor past the pope's modern private chapel, with its stained glass ceiling and white leather kneelers.

Even as he was serving the pope his breakfast, after the pontiff had said mass with other members of the "papal family" that morning, Gabriele knew he was a suspect in an investigation into leaks that had begun in January.

"He was questioned earlier but the decisive elements that permitted the arrest surfaced later," a Vatican official said, adding that one of the pope's two private secretaries, Monsignor Georg Ganswein, had confronted Gabriele with his suspicions.

LAST RIDE IN THE POPEMOBILE

At precisely 10:30 that sunny Wednesday morning, Benedict rode in his white popemobile through the Arch of the Bells into St Peter's Square to start his weekly audience. Gabriele was in his usual place, to the right of the driver, and his stony face showed no emotion.

It was the last ride he would take in the iconic vehicle that carries the man world diplomacy recognizes not only as leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics but as "The Sovereign of the State of Vatican City."

That afternoon, agents led by Domenico Giani, 49, the shaven-headed Vatican police chief who is known by the diminutive "Mimmo" to his friends, rang the buzzer on the Gabriele family apartment and entered.

Giani was formerly a member of the Italian secret service.

"It's not a fancy place - four rooms, a bath and a kitchen, if I remember correctly," someone who has been inside told Reuters.

Inside, they found what the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano - which waited nearly a week before writing about the arrest - called "a large number of confidential documents" belonging to the pope.

"A sense of tension, disorientation, stupor and sadness fell over the whole place like a thick fog after news of Paolo's arrest spread," said one Vatican worker describing the mood of employees from priests to postmen in the following days.

Because the Vatican does not have a jail, Gabriele is being held in a simple "safe room" with a bed and small table in the Vatican police station.

But the question on many people's minds and lips, including Gabriele's friends, was "Why? What is the motive?"

If he is guilty, why would Paoletto (little Paul, as he known), a devout Catholic and devoted father, betray the man whose official titles include "Successor of the Prince of the Apostles" and "Servant of the Servants of God"?

People who know Gabriele, now called "the defendant" in Vatican statements, exclude money as a motive.

They say the butler, who still attends Mass each day in the police station, would not have been able to spend it anywhere without raising suspicion; unless he left his job and probably even Italy.

And why, at 46 with three small children, would he leave a simple but comfortable life in the Vatican? While Vatican employees do not receive large salaries, they do enjoy benefits such as low rent, no income tax and cheap food and petrol at the commissaries of the 108-acre city state.

NO CHECKBOOK JOURNALISM, SAYS AUTHOR

Gianluigi Nuzzi, the Italian journalist who revealed many of the documents alleging corruption in the Vatican and internal conflict over the role of the Vatican bank, declines to reveal his sources but insists he did not pay anyone.

Nuzzi, a respected journalist with a good track record whose book "His Holiness: The Secret Papers of Benedict XVI," contains some of the allegations, says his sources were simple, devout people "genuinely concerned about the Catholic Church" who wanted to expose corruption.

People who know Gabriele, who started out as a humble cleaning person in the Vatican, said there was no indication either that he could have been blackmailed over his private life to force him to leak the documents.

Apart from Gabriele, the few other people who could go directly into the papal apartments via the reserved private elevator at the base of the Sixtus V courtyard include the pope's two priest secretaries, Ganswein and Maltese Monsignor Alfred Xuereb, and four consecrated women of "Memores Domini".

Memores Domini is an association of lay women, similar to nuns, who take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience within the Catholic organization Communion and Liberation. Their names are Carmela, Loredana, Cristiana and Rossella.

The fact that Gabriele was part of a tightly knit group known as "the papal family" explains the sadness and bitterness in the pope's words when he first spoke about the crisis in public on Wednesday, exactly one week after the butler's arrest.

"Our life and our Christian path are often marked by difficulties, incomprehension and suffering," he said, adding that all people must persevere in the face of "conflicts in human relations, often within one's own family".

While the pope's secretaries and the four women who help him run the simple household live in the papal residence, Gabriele stayed in his own apartment nearby with his family.

"He lived in the Vatican but not in the papal apartment," one Church official who knows Gabriele told Reuters. "He could have met with anyone in the Vatican or outside the Vatican".

In an interview with Reuters, Nuzzi would not say if any of the documents he had received came from Gabriele.

His book contains a treasure trove of private Vatican correspondence, including documents alleging cronyism and corruption in contracts with Italian companies, conspiracies among cardinals and clashes over management at the Vatican's own bank, the Institute for Works of Religion, or IOR.

He said the book, which hit the stands last week and is already sold out in Rome, is based on confidential conversations with more than 10 Vatican whistleblowers.

LOOKING FOR THE CROWS

The Vatican has not contested the authenticity of the documents but says their leak was part of a "brutal" personal attack on the pope and their publication "a criminal act".

The Italian media have dubbed the people who have leaked the documents "Corvi" (crows), a pejorative Italian term for an informant.

"They are not crows, they are doves who wanted to shed light, clean their air," Nuzzi told Reuters. "If the image of the Vatican that emerges is negative, it is not my fault, it is because of what is written in the documents."

The leaks began in January when an investigative television show hosted by Nuzzi broadcast private letters to Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and the pope from Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, former deputy governor of the Vatican City, who has been moved to Washington as the Vatican's ambassador.

The letters showed Vigano was transferred after he exposed what he said was a web of corruption and cronyism linked to the awarding of contracts at inflated prices to Italian contractors.

Bertone responded by removing Vigano from his position three years before the end of his tenure and sending him to the United States, despite his strong resistance.

Bertone, whose job is to keep the Vatican's central administration, or Curia, running smoothly for the pope, now looks weakened after the leaks scandal and other failures.

They include the abrupt departure last week of the Vatican bank's Italian chief Ettore Gotti Tedeschi - who was recruited by Bertone from Spanish bank Santander - after a no-confidence vote by its board.

At his position in the papal apartments, Gabriele was in a prime position to see at least some of the disarray and tension in the Curia. But it remains to be seen whether he really was a pawn used by others to undermine Bertone, as some sources say.

"This is a strategy of tension, an orgy of vendettas and pre-emptive vendettas that has now spun out of the control of those who thought they could orchestrate it," said Alberto Melloni, a prominent Italian Church historian.

After his arrest Gabriele called an old school friend and devout catholic, Carlo Fusco, and asked him to be his defense lawyer. Fusco, a civil advocate, called in criminal lawyer Cristiana Arru to help with Gabriele's defense.

Gabriele's fate is now in the hands of Piero Antonio Bonnet, the Vatican's public prosecutor.

He will decide if the man who once was trusted with the keys to the papal elevator should stand trial for aggravated theft, or even worse, disclosing the documents of a head of state or breaking a special pontifical law protecting papal confidentiality.

The pope has tried to end talk of conflict under his roof.

Breaking his silence on the scandal on Wednesday, he expressed full confidence in his staff, including those who he said work "in silence" to help him carry out his ministry.

But that group no longer includes Gabriele, who only a few days ago was one of the closest men to Pope Benedict but now sits in a lonely room in the Vatican awaiting his fate.

theGrio: Woman who was set afire, shot gives birth

?

WARREN, Mich. ? The pregnant Detroit woman who was kidnapped, set on fire, and shot early Saturday morning has successfully given birth to a baby boy. The woman, who Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV has identified as 22-year-old LaTonya Bowman, was due to deliver in three weeks, but went into labor at about 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon and gave birth late Tuesday morning at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

?She has to be one of the most courageous women I have ever encountered,? said Warren Police Deputy Commissioner Louis Galasso. ?She had the will and instinct to live.?

The incident took place late Saturday night after Bowman and the baby?s father ? whose name has not been released by authorities ? went to a late night showing of Men in Black 3 at the Ford Drive-In Theater in Dearborn. The father had apparently been very upset about Bowman?s pregnancy, while Bowman hoped to restart their relationship.

Galasso also told the Detroit Free Press that the baby?s father admitted to the mother and to detectives that he did not want the child. ?He certainly discussed not wanting to have the child, but he told his roommate to abandon the idea to harm the child,? Galasso said.

After she drove the father to his mother?s house on Sherman Ave. in Warren, where he also lives with his current girlfriend and an unidentified roommate, the two pulled into the garage. Before Bowman could fully step out of the car, the roommate bound her eyes, mouth, and hands with duct tape, and threw her into the backseat.

The roommate drove her to an area near the intersection of I-94 and I-75 on Detroit?s east side. Once there, she was doused with lighter fluid and set on fire ? she would later tell authorities that the attacker told her ?you know why this is happening.? When Bowman fell to the ground and attempted to put out the flames, she was shot once in the back.

Her attackers fled as she lay burning on the ground, apparently playing dead. ?It sounds like she was still engulfed in flames when he shot her,? Galasso said. Bowman was able to put out the flames, free herself from the duct tape, and drive to a gas station a few miles away to call for help.

?Everything was bad, she was burned up,? said Mohamed Zokari, an employee at the Shell gas station on I-75 and 6 Mile where Bowman came for help and was assisted by one of his co-workers. ?She was in a bad situation and he just looked out for her, gave her a T-shirt.?

Bowman?s mother arrived at the gas station and drove her to Beaumont Hospital. Bowman was being treated for burns to her face, torso, and back when she went into labor on Monday.

Both the father and the roommate are in police custody awaiting arraignment today, in 37th District Court in Warren. The men will be charged with assault with intent to murder, conspiracy with intent to murder and forceful imprisonment. Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith is considering charging them with causing harm to a fetus.

Galasso told the Free Press that the roommate, who was on parole for concealing stolen property and resisting arrest, would also face a felony firearms charge. Hospital officials have not released any further information on the condition of Bowman or her baby.

Beryl prompts tropical storm warning for NE Florida

The National Hurricane Center in Miami has issued a tropical storm warning for residents living in Volusia County.

Subtropical Storm Beryl, the second named storm of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, is moving west-southwest toward the southeastern coast of the United States at about 6 mph, a speed the Hurricane Center expects to increase through Sunday.

At 11 p.m. Saturday, Beryl's center was located near 30.8 degrees north latitude and 77.2 degrees west longitude, or about 300 miles east-northeast of Jacksonville. The storm is expected to turn west Sunday night, with its center nearing the warning area later that evening. Its current sustained winds are about 50 mph.

Residents of northeastern Florida should expect Beryl to produce mostly wind gusts and up to 2 to 4 inches of rainfall.

Tropical storm force winds are expected to begin across Volusia County and north of Orlando by Sunday afternoon.

The Hurricane Center will release its next advisory at midnight Sunday.

A high risk of rip currents is expected along the northeast Florida coast from Nassau through Flagler counties. A moderate risk of rip currents is also expected along the east central Florida coast from Volusia through Martin counties.

Conditions are expected to be present through Monday. Beach goers should remember to remain alert when red flags are flying.

?In addition to the potential for dangerous rip currents, high waves up to 4 to 6 feet could cause moderate beach erosion and minor coastal flooding,? said State Meteorologist Amy Godsey. ?Beachgoers should remember to review the rip current outlook for their area, check the warning flag signs before entering the water and swim within sight of a lifeguard.??

Tropical storm warnings are in effect from the Volusia and Brevard County line through South Carolina. The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a tropical storm watch for Baker, Bradford, Clay, Union, and Putnam Counties.

Beryl is projected to move west-southwest into Northeast Florida or southern Georgia Sunday night through Monday night, briefly stalling, then turning northeast towards South Carolina ahead of an approaching cold front. As it moves inland, it is expected to decrease in intensity into a tropical or subtropical depression.

Settling In ? Temple U Abroad

At the end of my first week here in St. Thomas, Jamaica I feel much more comfortable than when I left the airport this past Sunday. In fact, I?d go as far to say that I am pretty much settled in. Those feelings come and go, but for the most part I?m pretty happy with where I am and what I?m doing. That?s not to say that I didn?t and still don?t go through some culture shock here and there! So far the days have been long and busy. In this blog post I will attempt to detail everything as much as I can. Here goes nothing!

The first week was mostly visiting the sites that we would be given the opportunity to work at over the month here. We started at Yallahs Primary School. As an early childhood education major, I was set up in a first grade class. Miss Bogel?s classroom had ?43 students, a few of which, as she told me had severe autism. As it was just day one in the room, my main goal was to just observe; to feel things out. I noticed that Miss Bogel rarely included the children with autism. They were given seats off to the side, where they played with toys or ?read? from books. It was hard for me to see. In the States, children with disabilities are given IEP and receive special attention and accomodations to help them learn. It appeared that here in Jamaica, at least in my classroom, that was not really included. Miss Bogel seemed to care about the children and their education, but simply did not quite know how to deal with them. She would hug them often and occasionally check up on them, but they were not really being taught like the other kids. That frustrated me; I thought Miss Bogel was failing them a bit as a teacher. But then I realized she had 40 some other students to teach and probably was not trained in special education. I began to realize the education system in Jamaica was just totally different from mine at home. When I return to the Primary School next week I hope to give these kids some individual help. I also observed the use of corporal punishment in the classroom, something I disagree with strongly and plan to provide a different approach to dealing with challenging behavior for Yallahs Primary.

After the Primary School, we visited the Basic School and the High School (both in Yallahs). Basic Schools are very interesting here in Jamaica; they are schools that start children at the age of three. It was so much fun to work with these little tikes! They get a lot of play time and important socialization. In addition, they are taught self-help skills. My favorite part of working with these kids was watching them play with my camera. They loved seeing their own face on the screen; it was like magic. I plan to work at the Basic School as my secondary site here. The High School was a totally different atmosphere than the Basic School. It was very strict, especially the dress code. Students in most Jamaican schools are required to wear uniforms, but at Yallahs High there are rules about how low you can wear your pants and that shirts must be tucked in. Talking to the principal we found out the reason they are so strict about everything is because High School is pretty much these students last chance to make something of their lives; most Jamaica students will not continue to University. For this reason, the high school is set up like a technical school as well. There are classes for the agriculture field (complete with a farm and chickens), the cosmetology field, and the metal works field. In addition to that they have the standard English, science, computer, etc.

Day one completed with a visit to the Women?s Center, an education setting for teenage mothers. I found out that most of the girls there were only 15 years old! We met some of them and their babies, who often come to the center with them. The place was very hospitable and if you ask me, a very important place.

On our next day visiting sites, we went to RADA and WRADA. RADA stands for rural agriculture development authority, while WRADA is the women?s sector of that. Both these sites were located far away from our residence, so we crammed into buses and headed off. On the bus I really noticed how bad the roads here in Jamaica are. Yet, the people have no trouble driving. They zoom down those things like they?re constantly rushing to be somewhere on time. I found this funny, because as I am learning, Jamaican culture is at a much slower pace than American. They are a much more laid back people who seem to do things on their own time. It appears they really enjoy their lives this way. But getting back to RADA. RADA is essentially set up to educate and help farmers, whether that be finding them work, assisting their wives in cooking help, identifying the best crops to grow. I loved the women?s part of RADA. The women we met were so independent; proud and happy about their work. They seemed like awesome people. In addition, they welcomed us with great warmth. They gave us samples of their mango wine and guava cheese (which tasted exactly like natural fruit roll ups). I plan to make the trip to Bath once a week to help at WRADA.

The rest of the week was spent exploring and adjusting to Jamaican life. We had wonderful food, like jerk chicken, cod fish, rice and peas, porridge, chicken and beef pattys, bread fruit?the list goes on and on. We had a few lessons in Patois, the Creole language here. We went swimming in the beautiful blue waters. We met some wonderful people from the neighborhood, like good old Aunt G who sits outside her home/store everyday selling ?anything you?d ever need.? This weekend we get another beach day and will be going to Kingston to see a Jamaican national soccer game, a world cup qualifier. So far, the experience has been a ride of ups and downs, but overall quite amazing. There are moments where I feel uncomfortable: I may miss home friends and family or feel guilty for my wealth compared to the people here or not know how to handle being called whitey or being hit on every moment?but all that being said, I?ve been laughing and smiling everyday. Living in a foreign country is tough, but this service-learning trip will be an experience unlike any other. Bring on week two!

FBI forming new cyber intelligence unit to innovate digital surveillance

According to a report filed by technology site CNET, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is forming a new cyber intelligence and research unit dubbed the Domestic Communications Assistance Center (DCAC). The briefing states that the DCAC's purpose will be "to invent technology that will let police more readily eavesdrop on Internet and wireless communications" (initially focusing on VoIP services, social networks, and wireless communication mediums) . Via a prepared statement, the FBI explained that the unit's modus operandi will be to "assist federal, state and local law enforcement with electronic surveillance capabilities." Congress has appropriated over $54 million for "lawful electronic surveillance" in fiscal year 2012; the DCAC has been earmarked just north of $8 million from that pie. The Bureau's full statement is after the break.

$99 for Club Fitting and Swing Evaluation in the TaylorMade Performance Lab at Robin Nigro Golf Academy ($300 Value)

Well-rounded golfers must master a variety of skills, including driving, reverse putting, and suppressing the part of the brain that associates high scores with victory. Chip away at preconceived notions with this Groupon.

$99 for Two Hours of Practice in TaylorMade Performance Lab ($300 Value)

Upon entry into the TaylorMade Performance Lab, golfers slip into a motion-sensor vest and attach sensors to their extremities, which precisely capture intricate movements of their swings throughout the session. Players can then watch from every conceivable angle as their swings are replicated by a digital doppelganger that breaks down club-head speed, launch angle, and spin rate. The data gathered is then used to reveal ineffective swing habits and calculate the type of clubs, club shaft, and wiffle-ball bat players should use to achieve optimal results on the course.

Robin Nigro Golf Academy

Dynamic golf duo Robin and Mark Nigro help golfers develop optimal swings at Robin Nigro Golf Academy's full driving range, pro shop, and academy. The pair first joined forces when Mark began teaching golf to Robin, then 23, who thrived under Mark's deft training and, in two short years, ascended the ranks from late-starting beginner to a competitor on the Futures Mini Tour. Recognizing their undeniable chemistry, the two joined forces and now foster successful golf skills with lessons tailored to golfers of all stripes, often enlisting technological teaching aids to enhance their swing diagnoses and placate the club's supercomputer overlord.

Those looking for solo practice sessions can take to the outdoor driving range, where clubbers launch balls off of astroturf hitting mats out into a zoysia-grass valley peppered with multiple target areas. With covered, heated hitting bays, the range lets pin hunters work on their power draw or high fade while safely protected from rainstorms or predatory hot air balloons.

The Groupon Guide to: Bonding with Your Child

Babies come out of the womb so physically weak that they will love anyone strong enough to hold their jello-like bodies, but as kids grow older, parents must earn their love. Here?s how to force your kid to adore you:

Buy Them a Car: Your kid doesn?t want to be seen in whatever hot metal garbage you?re driving around. Drop off your spawn at their favorite local dealership, give them your credit card, and then go wait for them to meet you at the nearest Pizza Barge franchise.

Be a Cool Parent: Make it obvious that you?re not like other parents by dressing in teenager clothing (tight jeans and a T-shirt from a sandwich shop that doesn?t exist anymore). If people mistake you for your child?s loose-skinned older sibling, just go with it. Tell them that your child?s parents disappeared while committing a crime of passion together and you decided to raise your sibling as a graduate-school project.

Spend Time with Them: When children are still young, you can just carry them around in a sling on your chest, but as they grow older and heavier, it?s better to stay attached by sewing a shirt big enough that you both can wear it at the same time. If your kid refuses to wear the shirt, cry loudly until you both feel embarrassed, and then call your kid?s crush and cry loudly to them.

Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4533

Nearly identical in most ways to the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4590 ($499.99 list, 4 stars) that I recently reviewed, the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4533 ($399.99 list) adds Wi-Fi support that the WP-4590 lacks, but leaves out support for the PCL and PostScript printer languages that some offices require. Beyond that, it shares the same fast speed and good paper handling that makes both printers comparable to similarly priced lasers, and it offers the same low cost per page that makes them particularly attractive choices for micro and small offices and workgroups. The WP-4533 in particular is attractive enough to make it Editors' Choice.

Despite the $100 lower price for the WP-4533, it's best thought of as sharing the current top of the line spot for WorkForce Pro models. In essence, the WP-4590 is top of the line for offices that need PCL or PostScript in their printers, while the WP-4533 is top of the line for those that don't. Both printers, for example, offer identical MFP features. Both print, scan, and fax, including over a network; they both work as standalone copiers and fax machines; and both can scan to, but not print from, a USB key.

As with the WP-4590 also, the WP-4533 lets you print through the cloud. Connect to the Internet by way of a network, using either an Ethernet or WiFi connection in this case, and you can take advantage of Epson Connect Email Print, which assigns an email address to the printer, then lets you print a document by sending it as an email attachment.

Similarly, you can also print with Google Cloud Print and even print with Apple AirPrint if you have a WiFi access point on your network. (You can't connect directly to the printer with AirPrint). You won't find any mention of these two options in the material that comes with the printer, however. To find out how to use either choice, you have to go to Epson's Web site.

Paper Handling and Setup
The WP-4533's paper handling is better than you'll get with most similarly priced color laser MFPs. The 330 sheet paper capacity, divided into a 250-sheet drawer and 80-sheet multi-purpose tray, should be more than enough for most small offices, and the built-in duplexer (for printing on both sides of the page) is a welcome convenience. If you need more capacity, you can even add a second 250-sheet drawer ($99.99 list) for a total of 580 sheets.

For scanning, the WP-4533 offers a 30-page automatic document feeder (ADF) to supplement the letter-size flatbed. The ADF can scan legal-size pages as well as multipage documents, which is typical, but it also goes beyond that, adding the ability to scan in duplex by turning the page over when it scans. The duplexing options lets you copy both single- and double-sided originals to your choice of single- or double-sided copies.

Setup is absolutely standard fare. For my tests, I connected the WP-4533 by its Ethernet port and installed the driver and software on a Windows Vista system. The only potential issue is the size, since the paper handing capabilities require a relative large printer for an inkjet, at 15.1 by 18.1 by 16.5 inches (HWD).

Although that makes the printer a little large to comfortably share a desk with, and arguably a little large for most home offices, it's small enough so it should be an easy fit for a micro or small office. Also worth mention is that it weighs only 30.4 pounds, which makes it much lighter and easier to move around than comparable lasers.

Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4533

Speed and Output Quality
On our business applications I timed the printer (using QualityLogic's hardware and software), at an effective 6.0 pages per minute (ppm). Not surprisingly, that makes it essentially tied with the WP-4590, at 5.7 ppm using the Epson driver. (At these speeds, a 0.3 ppm isn't statistically significant.) It's also essentially tied with the Editors' Choice HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One ($299.99 direct, 4.5 stars) and faster than the comparably priced color laser Editors' choice Dell 1355cnw Multifunction Color Printer ($419.99 direct, 4 stars), which managed only 4.5 ppm.

As with the WP-4590, output quality is the only area where the WP-4533 behaves more like a typical inkjet than like a laser. Text quality is at the low end of the tight range where the vast majority of inkjets fall, which makes it good enough for most business purposes. Unless you have an unusual need for small fonts, you shouldn't have any complaints about it.

Graphics is absolutely par for an inkjet, which also makes it makes it good enough for any business needs, including PowerPoint handouts, for example. Depending on how critical an eye you have, you may also consider it good enough for output going to an important client when you need to convey a sense of professionalism.

Photo quality is at the upper end of the small range where the vast majority of inkjet MFPs fall, making it better than what you'd get with some drugstore prints and a lot better than you'll get from a color laser. For those businesses, like real estate offices, that need to print photos, that can be a welcome plus.

One other strong argument for the WP-4533 is its low cost per page. Based on ink cost and claimed yields for the cartridges, the running cost comes out to 1.6 cents for a monochrome page and 6.8 cents for a color page. That makes the WP-4533, along with WP-4590, one of the least expensive printers in this price range to print with. And that includes lasers as well as inkjets.

As I said about the WP-4590, the WP-4533 is one of the more impressive inkjets we've tested. Its speed, paper handling, and MFP features are all a match for comparably priced?and even more expensive?laser MFPs, and it offers everything a small office needs, including some notable extras like cloud printing. Clearly, if you must have PostScript or PCL, the WP-4590 will be your preferred choice. For the larger number of small offices that don't, however, the WP-4533 offers all the same capabilities plus WiFi at a lower price.

More generally, if you must have laser-quality text, you should also look at the Dell 1355cnw; and if you can benefit from a legal-size flatbed, you should look at the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. However, the low cost per page for the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4533 is enough to make it Editors' Choice also, along with both of those printers. And the more you print, the more you'll appreciate the savings.

How Sliding Glass Doors Can Create More Space and Illuminate ...

The use of glass has become popular these days in building doors. Just one look at them will tell you why: first, they are lighter, and second, you get to see the view outside without the need to open your door. As such, glass doors have now become a common sight in many American homes.

In the past, when glass was still not widely used, wood was the material of choice in building doors. Wood offers greater security, as intruders won't be able to barge in without making noise; they also have the effect of creating an organic feel over the structure. However, the problem with wood is that at some point it will begin to show signs of decay.

Because of that, sliding glass doors are becoming a popular alternative to wood doors. Contrary to most beliefs, sliding glass doors work not only for beach homes; through proper installation and design, they can complement almost any type of home. With proper maintenance, sliding glass doors can last longer than wooden doors.

Typically, sliding glass doors are larger than traditional ones. Thus, they are more useful when moving large objects in and out of your house. Because of greater space, moving that dining set to your patio or hauling that Christmas tree to your living room can be easier, and you no longer have to worry about banging them on the door frame.

Sliding glass doors also allow natural light to enter your home. That way, you don't have to use electric lights as often as before, allowing you to cut down on your energy bills. For residents of Louisville doors made of glass are the best option in rejuvenating their drab rooms, as they found that glass doors create the illusion of greater space.

Probably the best thing about sliding glass doors is that they help keep out the elements while still allowing you to see the view outside. If you are a busy parent, glass doors can be useful for you, as you can keep on eye on your children as they play in the yard. Also, in KY windows made of glass have allowed residents to keep tabs on what's happening on their yard without having to go outside.

Using the right materials to construct parts of your house can drastically improve your house's condition, and for residents of Louisville doors made of glass was what made that change possible. So if you feel your house is in need of better lighting, consider using a sliding glass door. China, Israel Pledge Closer Military Ties

China and Israel are taking steps to thaw a frosty relationship with a visit between the two countries? chiefs of staff. From the Washington Post:

The improved ties have been highlighted by this week?s visit to Beijing by Israel?s military chief and a training mission to Israel by the Chinese paramilitary force that, among other things, polices the restive Tibetan and Muslim Uighur regions. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to travel to China in the coming weeks.

[...] Chen told the official China Daily that China ?attaches importance to the ties with the Israeli military and is willing to make concerted efforts with the Israeli side to deepen pragmatic cooperation.?

In a statement released by the Israeli military, Gantz mentioned a commitment to developing the relationship, including ?joint courses that are scheduled to take place.? It did not elaborate.

Such comments are a remarkable turnaround from just a few years ago, when ties deteriorated after the failed arms deals.

In recent years, China has often found itself in the middle of tensions between Israel and Iran, which has bought Chinese military technology despite objections from the U.S. and other countries. For more on this, see a previous CDT post, ?Beijing Steers ?Tricky Path? With Iran.? Read more about Chinese relations with Israel via CDT.

Report: Russian intelligence suspects US hand in SuperJet crash

Although aviation experts dismissed Russian intelligence's suspicions of a US hand in the May 9 plane crash in Indonesia, the many unanswered questions about the crash fuel conspiracy theories.?

Russia's military intelligence agency, the GRU, suspects that US-inspired industrial espionage may have caused the May 9 crash in Indonesia?of a Sukhoi Superjet 100?? Russia's only hopeful entry in the civilian aviation market ? according to Moscow's leading tabloid newspaper, the usually reliable and officially connected?Komsomolskaya Pravda.

While most Russian aviation experts contacted today dismissed the sabotage theory, they say there is a deepening mystery about how Russia's most modern civil aircraft, with all its systems apparently functioning perfectly, came to slam into the side of a mile-high volcano during a routine demonstration flight.

"All the theories put forward so far are badly flawed, there is a shortage of hard information and there are a lot of irresponsible rumors," says Roman Gusarov, editor of Avia.ru, an online aviation journal. "I am afraid that Russia is not going to emerge from this story without taking a black eye."

Citing an unnamed GRU general, Komsomolskaya Pravda?claimed that electronic jamming of the plane's on board equipment is the most plausible explanation for how the jet, which was making a demonstration flight out of Jakarta airport with 45 people aboard, smashed into a mountainside even though an initial investigation has found that its terrain and collision avoidance systems were all functioning properly.

"We are investigating the theory that it was industrial sabotage," the GRU officer is quoted as saying. He said that Russian intelligence has long monitored the activities of US military electronic specialists at the Jakarta airport.

"We know that they have special equipment that can cut communications between an aircraft and the ground or interfere with the parameters on board," he said. "For example, the plane is flying at one altitude, but after interference from the ground onboard equipment shows another."

The investigation has so far turned up the plane's "black box" cockpit voice recorder, which shows that no system-failure alarms went off during the plane's final minutes, nor did the crew take any audible emergency action. But the aircraft's digital flight recorder, which monitors flight systems and engine performance, remains missing in the rough jungle terrain around Mount Salak, where at least seven other deadly air disasters have occurred.

Big questions

The biggest question about the crash is why the SuperJet's pilot,?Alexander Yablontsev, one of Russia's most experienced test pilots, requested permission to descend amid a rainstorm in a notoriously mountainous area ? and why a ground controller in Jakarta granted that permission.

"Maybe he didn't see that the plane was heading straight at the mountain. On the other hand, we don't rule out the possibility that this was deliberate industrial sabotage to drive our aircraft from the market," an unnamed official at Sukhoi, the plane's manufacturer, told Komsomolskaya Pravda. "Fortunately, we don't foresee any loss of orders [for the SuperJet]."
