Gov. Deal: Chinese firm to create 300 jobs in Ga.
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. (AP) ? Gov. Nathan Deal has announced that a Chinese firm plans to add a research and development center at its Peachtree City operation south of Atlanta, creating 300 jobs.The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reportsthat SANY Heavy Industry of China plans to invest $25 million in the expansion at its North American facility in Peachtree City.
Deal made the announcement in China, where he is on a week-long economic development trip.
He said that SANY would hire 300 mechanical and hydraulic engineers within the next three to five years, with hiring to begin in about a year.
The company's Peachtree City manufacturing facility makes specialized cranes and lifting equipment for the construction industry. The operation also houses sales, procurement and engineering offices. About 100 workers are now employed at the plant.
