The garage is one area of the home that notorious for collecting lots of junk.? And, in collecting all of that junk, it becomes increasingly more disorganized.? With all of the DIY projects we do around this house, we?ve accumulated a ton of tools that all need to be stored.? And on top of the array of tools, we also have bikes, golf clubs, holiday d?cor, and more!? And, all of it has to be stored in the garage since we don?t have a basement, nor easy attic access.
Garage organization can be a real challenge, but it doesn?t have to be.? Organizing a garage is the same as any other space, so keep these things in mind:
Those simple concepts should help you sort the majority of items in your garage.? Once things are sorted, you need to think about what is the best way for you to store the items you own, in the space you have.? We have a mixture of open shelving, an oversized work bench, and cabinets we?ve built to help us contain what we?ve got (tutorials coming soon).? Keep in mind, that while cabinets are nice because you can close the doors, they may not be the best solution for everyone.? Being able to see what you have is sometimes best.
To help inspire you (and us) a bit more, I?ve pulled some of my favorite garage organization ideas from around the web!? So, here we go?
This is one of my favorite garage inspiration pictures! The use of baskets and wall storage gets everything up off the floor, while still keeping everything visible on the walls!
?
Similar to the first picture above, this system accomplishes the same goals: getting all the items up off the floor while keeping everything visible and accessible!
?
As a kid who grew up playing sports, we always had a ton of different balls floating around our garage! I wish I knew about this cheap and simple solution back then! Since we?re planning to put our future kiddos in sports, we?ll definitely be adding one of these to our garage!
?
This mix of hooks, open shelving, and cabinets provides the perfect combination of storage solutions! All while keeping everything up of the ground!
?
This sky-high storage solution is perfect for long-term storage, like holiday decor and children?s keepsakes.
?
Lastly, this is not your typical garage. This is a garage that has been made into multipurpose space thanks to Lowe?s Creative Ideas Magazine! I seriously love this magazine- all of the ideas are affordable, useful, and creative! This garage can function as both a workspace and party place? doesn?t get better than that, especially when you don?t have a lot of entertaining space in your home!
?
So, what are the most important take-aways?

Governor Jerry Brown today signed SB 1161 that prohibits the Public Utilities Commission or any other state agency to regulate Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or Internet Protocol-enabled service providers.
Senate Bill 1161 was authored by Senator Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima).
?This bill encourages the continued growth of these (VoIP) and other innovative services that have become a hallmark of our state,? Brown said in a signing statement addressed to members of the California State Senate. ?The existing consumer protections safeguarded by this bill are crucial.?
Current federal law states that while ?telecommunications service? like landline telephones are subject to regulation regarding terms of service, rates, and access to the 911 emergency line, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has not regulated ?information service? like the Internet.
On a state level, telecommunications services are regulated by PUC. Neither PUC nor the FCC has stated whether VoIP services are considered telecommunication or information services and has declined to regulate it the way it does telephone companies.
SB 1161 states that without authorization by statute, either by the state or by federal law, PUC cannot impose regulations on VoIP services. SB 1161 does maintain regulations requiring the maintenance of the 911 emergency line, the maintenance of backup power systems, and allowing enforcement of state and federal consumer protection laws.
Supporters of the bill include TechAmerica, AT&T, the California Chamber of Commerce, and the Voice on the Net Coalition.
Groups opposing the bill include the American Association of Retired Persons, the American Civil Liberties Union of California, the Town of Fairfax, and the Utility Workers Union of America.

While, as a whole, tobacco advertising is down, over half of Playboy's total ad pages were from two tobacco companies, Newport and Natural Spirit.
Maybe Playboy knows something the rest of us don't.
Earlier this month, USA Today reported that due to the recent federal tax increase, tobacco consumption in the U.S. has decreased dramatically since 2009. According to surveys by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were about 3 million fewer smokers in 2011 than in 2009, due in large part to the aggressive anti-smoking campaigns that have taken affect over the past few years.
There was a slight increase in tobacco advertising at the beginning of Q1 2012, up 11% to a total of 160 pages, led by Newport and Natural American Spirit, according to MagazineRadar. But, ever since, tobacco advertising has been down 22%, and doesn't look like it will be changing any time soon. Though Newport and Natural American Spirit remain the largest advertisers, their buys have both decreased by 38% and 18%, respectively.
This chart shows the most active tobacco advertisers in magazines in Q2 and Q3 2012:
?This chart shows the magazines that ran the most tobacco ads in Q2 and Q3 2012:

It doesn't seem like the tobacco brands are just moving over to magazines. With few exceptions, most tobacco brands are not running online magazine campaigns, reported MagazineRadar. Conversely, White Cloud Electronic Cigarettes, Macanudo Cigars, and Altria Group, ran a large campaign on theatlantic.com advertising its underage smoking prevention initiative.

ScienceDaily (Sep. 26, 2012) ? This year's largest earthquake, a magnitude 8.6 temblor on April 11 centered in the East Indian Ocean off Sumatra, did little damage, but it triggered quakes around the world for at least a week, according to a new analysis by seismologists from the University of California, Berkeley, and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The April 11 quake was unusually large -- the tenth largest in the last 100 years and, similar to a few other recent large quakes, triggered small quakes during the three hours it took for seismic waves to travel through Earth's crust.
The new study shows, however, that some faults weren't rattled enough by the seismic waves to fail immediately, but were primed to break up to six days later.
The findings are a warning to those living in seismically active regions worldwide that the risk from a large earthquake could persist -- even on the opposite side of the globe -- for more than a few hours, the experts said.
"Until now, we seismologists have always said, 'Don't worry about distant earthquakes triggering local quakes,'" said Roland Burgmann, professor of earth and planetary science at UC Berkeley and coauthor of the study. "This study now says that, while it is very rare -- it may only happen every few decades -- it is a real possibility if the right kind of earthquake happens."
"We found a lot of big events around the world, including a 7.0 quake in Baja California and quakes in Indonesia and Japan, that created significant local shaking," Burgmann added. "If those quakes had been in an urban area, it could potentially have been disastrous."
Burgmann and Fred F. Pollitz, Ross S. Stein and Volkan Sevilgen of the USGS will report their results online on Sept. 26 in advance of publication in the journal Nature.
Burgmann, Pollitz, a research seismologist, and their colleagues also analyzed earthquake occurrences after five other recent temblors larger than 8.5 -- including the deadly 9.2 Sumatra-Andaman quake in 2004 and the 9.0 Tohoku quake that killed thousands in Japan in 2011 -- but saw only a very modest increase in global earthquake activity after these quakes. They said this could be because the East Indian Ocean quake was a "strike-slip" quake that more effectively generates waves, called Love waves, that travel just under the surface and are energetic enough to affect distant fault zones.
Burgmann explained that most large quakes take place at subduction zones, where the ocean bottom sinks below another tectonic plate. This was the origin of the Sumatra-Andaman quake, which produced a record tsunami that took more than 200,000 lives. The 2012 East Indian Ocean quake involved lateral movement -- referred to as strike-slip, the same type of movement that occurs along California's San Andreas Fault -- and was the largest strike-slip quake ever recorded.
"This was one of the weirdest earthquakes we have ever seen," Burgmann said. "It was like the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, a strike-slip event, but it was huge -- 15 times more energetic. This earthquake and an 8.3 that followed were in a very diffuse zone in an oceanic plate close to the Sumatra subduction zone, but it wasn't a single fault that produced the quake, it was a crisscrossing of three or four faults that all ruptured in sequence to make such a big earthquake, and they ruptured deep."
The seismologists analysis found five times the expected number of quakes during the six days following the April 11 quake and aftershock. An unusually low occurrence of quakes during the 6-12 days before that 8.6 quake may have accentuated the impact, possibly because there were many very-close-to-failure faults sensitive to a triggering shock wave, Pollitz said.
One possible mechanism for the delayed action, Burgmann said, is that the East Indian Ocean quake triggered a cascade of smaller, undetectable quakes on these faults that led to larger ruptures later on.
Alternatively, large quakes could trigger nearly undetectable tremors or microquakes that are a sign of slow slip underground.
"One possibility is that the earthquake immediately triggers slow slip in some places, maybe accompanied by detectable tremor, and then that runs away into a bigger earthquake," Burgmann speculated. "Some slow slip events take days to a week or more to evolve."
The work was supported by the USGS.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) ? Myanmar democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi's devoted followers are expected to turn out by the thousands Tuesday to hear her speak in an Indiana city where one of the largest Burmese communities in the United States has taken root.
The visit by the 67-year-old Nobel laureate, who spent 15 years under house arrest for opposing military rule, marks the zenith of a two-decade influx of Burmese refugees that has brought a new global awareness to Fort Wayne, Ind., a city of 256,000 about two hours north of Indianapolis.
Organizers say security will be tight for Suu Kyi's speech at Memorial Coliseum. At least 7,000 people from as far away as Toronto and Minneapolis have indicated they'll attend the speech, which Suu Kyi will deliver in Burmese with English translations on video. The visit is part of a 17-day trip to the U.S. during which she has met with President Barack Obama and received the Congressional Gold Medal.
Since 1991, when a single Burmese refugee resettled in this city 8,000 miles from southeast Asia, thousands more have followed, many of them relocating under a federal program after years in refugee camps in Thailand. They join other political refugees from a host of countries who have made the city a second home since the fall of Saigon in 1975, thanks largely to the help of Catholic Charities.
The 2010 census found 3,800 Burmese in Allen County, but Fred Gilbert, a retired welfare worker who now runs a website designed to help immigrants adjust to American life, says the number may be actually be a few thousand higher because some Burmese identify themselves by ethnic origin rather than nationality.
Signs welcoming Suu Kyi have been showing up throughout the city. Local students gathered recently to make flags depicting the fighting peacock that appears on the flag of the democracy movement in the country also known as Burma.
"She is the hope for the people," said Thiha Ba Kyi, a former dentist who earned an MBA after coming to the U.S. in 1994 and now works for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and helps the Burmese opposition in exile. "She can bring democracy again in Burma."
For many of the city's Burmese residents, Suu Kyi's visit will be the first tangible connection with the homeland some hope to return to one day. From this unlikely base , Suu Kyi's followers speak out about what's happening in their homeland through Voice of America broadcasts and YouTube videos, lobby Congress for continued economic sanctions and raise money for the opposition in Myanmar.
"They cannot talk in there, so we talk for them here," said Ba Kyi, 57, who hosts a weekly Burmese-language talk show on local television. "We are very staunch and very outspoken. ... I believe that's why Suu Kyi come here."
Many Burmese refugees, like Ba Kyi, left behind careers when they fled their homeland and have had to learn new skills to get a job. U Tun Oo was elected to parliament in the 1990 election won by Suu Kyi's party that was nullified by the military regime and served as finance minister for the elected government in exile.
"I'm finance minister in the jungle," he said with a laugh. "Jungle minister."
Now Tun Oo, who was a construction engineer in Asia, works in a Fort Wayne factory. When he's not working, he heads the local branch of Suu Kyi's party.
"We see people who were university professors and members of parliament who are very accomplished who are doing all kinds of work," said Tom Lewandowski, president of the AFL-CIO's area labor council. "They'll do what it takes to get by."
Refugees qualify for federal government assistance, but Meghan Menchhofer, a staffer at the Burmese Advocacy Center, said that while many newcomers rely on food stamps, only a handful accept cash welfare. The center, which is funded by federal grants and private donations, helps refugees find jobs and homes and navigate issues from laws and customs to getting a driver's license.
"It was different. Vastly different. I knew very little English," said May Ayar Oo, 26, who came to the U.S. at age 16. She graduated in the top five in her high school class and now works as an engineer while attending graduate school.
Patrick Proctor, a member of the board of directors at the Burmese Advocacy Center, said some people in Fort Wayne harbor a negative stereotype of the Burmese who live there. About two years ago, some of that prejudice came to light when a worker at a coin-operated laundry posted a sign barring Burmese "for sanitary reasons," apparently a reference to some people's habit of spitting out the residue from chewing betel nuts.
But many of the city's Burmese seem to have found their way. Burmese-run businesses have popped up across the city, and both the valedictorian and salutatorian at a local high school this year were Burmese.
Former Buddhist monk Nai Sike, 48, and his wife operate a Burmese grocery, one of several in town.
Sike said he would like to stay in the United States because of his business, but he might go back to visit Myanmar. Like the other Indiana Burmese, he is excited about Suu Kyi's visit.
"It's good she's coming here, because of democracy," he said through a translator.
Those attending Tuesday's speech will be eager to hear Suu Kyi's views on sanctions toward Myanmar. Since her release in 2010, she has joined hands with members of the former ruling junta that detained her to push ahead with political reform. She is under pressure from Myanmar President Thien Sein's government to urge the U.S. to remove the restrictions.
Ba Kyi wants to be a part of the change Suu Kyi is expected to bring. He said he wants to teach his people, who have no experience of freedom, what democracy is about.
"I would like to move back," he said. "Hopefully, they'll need educated people who have experience in a democratic country."

School pictures. One always wants to look their best ? and for parents of young kids, the quest to get their child camera-ready can be a challenge.
Reading a recent article on Huffington Post about a mother?s quest to mold and groom her daughter for picture day, I was reminded of my preschool photos ? and the mild drama that preceeded them.
Headstrong and defiant, I insisted that I wear my favorite shirt: a top with four little sheep and an ugly, yellow stain.
Of course my mother put up a regal fight, but in the end she gave way to my fashion sense and let me go to school wearing what I wanted. Today, when I asked her why, she said, ?You were persistent!!!!!!? (six exclamation marks included). She added, ?I wanted you to be happy in your picture. And you were. Cute even.?
Spoken like a true mother. I love that woman!
Confession: when the pictures were finally printed, I was disappointed that my mother was right ? you could actually see the stain (oh, the mind of a four-year-old!). But those sheep sure looked pretty. Overall, I was happy with my attire, and knowing I dressed myself that day, albeit with a stained shirt, it gave me a sense of confidence.
To this day, I love that story ? and I love my mother for being willing to let me go to school in a ratty, old shirt on picture day. I was four. And a kid. Not a model. Not a toy doll my mother could mold and manipulate into being a miniature replica of herself.
I?ve since graduated to wearing non-soiled clothes (unless of course the stain is in a inconspicuous spot ? full disclosure, okay?). Besides, clothes don?t make the person, the person does.
For Huffington Post blogger Shannon Bradley-Colleary, pigtail braids are the signature of her tomboy daughter ? something she?s now accepted, something she?s even proud of.
And speaking of hair, that reminds me of the time I rode my bike to the salon and told the hair stylist to give me a buzz cut and a rat tail.
True story. But that?s a blog for another day?
For now, I want to hear your stories about when you or your kids defied culture and society and did/wore what you wanted. Leave your comments in the section below.

BERLIN (Reuters) - Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Tuesday that Europe could only hope to come out of its crisis stronger and compete in a globalised world if its members pressed ahead with painful reforms and moved to more responsible budget policies.
Speaking at a meeting of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Merkel acknowledged that Germany was "not an island" that could disconnect from economic developments in Europe and the world economy.
But she placed the onus on Berlin's struggling euro zone partners to fix their own economies, rejecting the idea that Germany should relax its own productivity drive in order to help its partners.
"We need to take a deep breath to overcome this crisis," Merkel said. "We must make the efforts that will allow Europe to come out of this crisis stronger than it went in."
"There is a lack of confidence on financial markets that some euro zone states can pay back their debts in the long term," she continued. "The world wonders how competitive euro zone countries are."
The German leader said tough reforms in southern Europe had led to some convergence of unit labor costs across the euro zone, but made clear that there was still work to do.
She also expressed regret that the European Court of Justice had not been given stronger powers to intervene in national budget policies in the euro zone.
"We can't have support without controls. The two go hand in hand," Merkel said.
The German economy has held up well during the crisis, with unemployment holding near post-reunification lows. But there are signs that economic weakness across much of Europe and a slowdown in Chinese growth are beginning to bite.
Business sentiment is at its weakest level since early 2010, data released by the Ifo economic think tank showed on Monday. And some economists believe Germany could fall into a technical recession in the second half of this year.
"NOT AN ISLAND"
"We are feeling that Germany is not an island. We are an export nation. Forty percent of our exports go to the euro zone, 60 percent to the European Union. We can't disconnect from European and global economic developments," Merkel said.
Merkel held up the fiscal compact for budget discipline and plans to introduce pan-European banking supervision as signs of Europe's progress.
She dismissed the notion that Berlin was slamming on the brakes in the creation of a European banking watchdog. In recent weeks, the German government has made clear that it sees a January deadline for putting this in place as unrealistic.
"We want stronger European banking supervision," she said.
Merkel was due to meet European Central Bank President Mario Draghi on Tuesday afternoon. Later he will give a speech to the same industry conference.
Draghi's plan, unveiled at the start of the month, to buy the bonds of struggling euro countries, combined with a green light from Germany's Constitutional Court for Europe's new rescue fund have been welcomed by markets.
But worries have grown in the past week over Spain's reluctance to seek a bailout that would allow it to profit from the ECB's bond plan. Also weighing on the euro on Tuesday was a report that lawyers at the German Bundesbank were looking into the legality of Draghi's bond scheme.

The Huawei Ascend G600 is expected to arrive in Europe sometime this month, but in the meantime, the middle-weight smartphone was recently spotted at the FCC, where it revealed... well, not much. We're able to determine from the test reports that this is, indeed, the handset bound for Europe, as its UMTS / HSPA (3G) capabilities will be limited to the 2100MHz and 900MHz bands. Meanwhile, here in the States, the phone will be limited to EDGE connectivity. The Bluetooth and WiFi components also received a stamp of approval from the FCC, although the inclusion of these components should be a surprise to none. Beyond its connectivity, the Ascend G600 will combine Android 4.0.4 with a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, a 4.5-inch qHD display and will sell for €300 ($390) whenever it actually hits store shelves.

TODAY's Matt Lauer speaks with Al-Arabiya's Washington bureau chief Hisham Melhem on what has made conditions in the Middle East so ripe for violence, and whether there's a deeper anger that feeds the current outrage against the United States.

WASHINGTON -- An American Coptic Christian activist whose California TV facility was used to make an anti-Islam film that touched off protests across the Muslim world said he was deceived by the film's producer about its inflammatory content.?
In a statement posted on the blog of a prominent American anti-Islamic activist, Joseph Nassralla, founder of a Duarte, California-based group called Media for Christ, said he was a victim of "disinformation and smear" and the film's principal producer had altered its content without his knowledge.?
Akhtar Soomro / Reuters
Protests ignited by a controversial film that ridicules Islam's Prophet Muhammad spread throughout Muslim world.
Media for Christ operates a Christian satellite TV station called The Way TV, according to its website and tax return.?
Nassralla said he was contacted last year by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, whom he described as the film's producer, with a plan to make a film about the persecution of Christians in Egypt.?
Nakoula, who has a criminal record for bank fraud and drug offenses, was briefly questioned last weekend by federal authorities about possible probation violations. He was later released and has gone into hiding.?
Nassralla said in his statement that in explaining his film project, Nakoula had said the film would be called "Desert Warrior" and would "examine the culture of the desert and how it is related to what is going on right now."?
The statement was posted on the website Atlasshrugs2000, which is run by Pamela Geller, an activist who has organized anti-Islamic protests and events, including demonstrations opposing construction of an Islamic center near the site of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York in 2001.?
Egypt issues arrest warrants for Terry Jones, Coptic Christians over anti-Islam video
There was no way to independently confirm Nassralla's account.?
An attorney representing Nakoula in the investigation by probation officials declined to comment on Nassralla's statement, saying he was aware of the blog post but had not had a chance to discuss it with his client. He said Nakoula or his representatives may issue a statement in the future.?
Actors: 'We were grossly misled'
Nassralla, who spoke at two rallies in 2010 and 2011 organized by Geller, said Nakoula "needed a place to film. So I let him use my facility."?
"That is all I did, and is the full extent of my involvement with this project. Nakoula used my facility for ten days. Media for Christ employees were given a vacation during that time, because Nakoula was using the facility and so there was no work for them. There was only one Media for Christ employee who remained, to answer phones for the ministry," Nassralla said.?
NBC Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel spoke with former Arab League chief and former Egyptian foreign minister, Amr Moussa, to ask why there has been so much anti-American violence despite America's support of Arab Spring.
Hezbollah chief makes rare appearance, leads calls for protests over video
There was no sign of activity at the small studios of Media for Christ, located in a nondescript office park behind a Walmart store in suburban Duarte, during two visits last week by a Reuters reporter.?
On both occasions the doors were found locked and knocks went unanswered. A woman who worked at an office next door said she had not seen any employees there in recent days.?
Nassralla said he later discovered that Nakoula, using the name "Sam Bacile," had used Media for Christ's name without his permission to obtain an official permit for making the film.
'We were shocked'
After accounts of the film began circulating in Egypt and other Muslim majority countries, the amateurish production -- which portrays the Prophet Muhammad as a womanizer and a fool -- set off a chain of violent protests and attacks on U.S. and other Western embassies in the Middle East and North Africa.?
In his statement, Nassralla said Nakoula had "filmed his movie not only at my ministry location, but in Nakoula's own home (which reporters located by getting the address from the actors), and in another facility for outside scenes that was included in the permit, Blue Canyon."?
US analysts: Benghazi emerges as key recruiting ground for al-Qaida
Nassralla also said that behind his back, Nakoula had "altered the film without anyone's knowledge, changing its entire focus and dubbing in new dialogue. He edited it."?
"The final product, 'Innocence of Muslims,' bore no resemblance to the film I thought he was making, or the film the actors thought they were creating. We were shocked," Nassralla said.?
In an introduction to Nassralla's statement, Geller said that she had last seen him at an event in June in California, and that now he was being "hunted like an animal for speaking critically about Islam."?
Nassralla "is currently in hiding after multiple death threats from Muslims because of his purported role in producing this video," she said.?
In an exchange of emails with Reuters last weekend, Geller suggested that if Nakoula was arrested, that would represent an attempt to impose strict Islamic Sharia law in the United States.?
"He will not be in prison for fraud or some probation violation, but for blasphemy. This is Shariah enforcement in America," she said.?
In a later email, however, Geller expressed disappointment over Nassralla's account of his dealings with Nakoula. But she added, "That would not make (Nakoula) any less a political prisoner."?

Sometimes it may feel as though you brought home Cujo instead of Lassie! Fortunately, continuing your training sessions will pay off, with a dog that is well behaved and joy to be around.
To make the most of your dog training efforts, stay consistent. Write down a list of all the commands you use, and inform anyone who commands the dog to use the words on the list. Remember to always reward a good behavior and not a bad behavior. If different people are responding differently with the dog, it will make training difficult and confuse the dog.
TIP! It is vital to train your dog when it?s still a puppy. Older dogs are trainable, but young dogs are more responsive to the lessons from training.
When training your dog, always remember to have fun. When you play with your dog, you help make a stranger bond between the two of you. In return, he becomes more receptive to being trained. Having fun with your dog during training is one thing, but playing and having fun with your dog outside of training is also necessary.
It can be very difficult to train two dogs together. If you find that your dogs are not concentrating during training, then it may be necessary to train them independently, and then work on training them together.
Don?t allow your dogs to pick and choose what they listen to. It is better to not give a command if you are not prepared to follow through and enforce it.
TIP! When housebreaking a dog, it is advisable to use the crating technique. Take your dog outside frequently and try to maintain a regular schedule in order to maximize the effectiveness of the crate.
Make sure the diet you are feeding your dog is healthy and nutritious. Too many table scraps can unbalance your dog?s diet. Without proper nutrition, your dog?s general health will suffer and there may also be direct effects on behavior. A simple improvement to their diet will work wonders in how a dog feels, and make it much easier for them to have a clear mind during training.
Understand when it may be time to call in the professionals. You may hit a snag in your training and a professional can help get you back on track. A professional trainer will be able to help you understand where you are going wrong with the training, and set you on the right path.
TIP! If you have a large-breed dog, he needs a big bed on which to stretch out. There are large, rectangular beds available for big dogs, or you could just get your dog a crib mattress.
Make sure make your dog stay active and teach him new training methods all of the time. Dogs are not animals that are meant to sit still all of the time. To have an enjoyable life, they need to be able to get out and run and work. Some examples of ways to get your dog more active would be to put it in a fitness class, take it running, or teach it how to play Frisbee. If you stay active with him, he is not likely to get bored.
Dogs all exhibit certain behaviors, so make sure you have your house set up to accommodate them. Dogs need to eat well, a spacious run, and lots of toys and interesting things to occupy their time.
Don?t spend too long on a single dog training session. If you try to focus for a long period of time on one command, your dog will show signs of boredom and begin to get antsy. Keep the lessons down to about 10 minutes or so.
TIP! Your dog will be more comfortable in a harness, but you will not have enough control for training. You must use a proper training collar until your dog is very well-trained.
If you lack patience or cannon remain even-tempered during the training session, do not push forward. You need to set an example of patience for your dog. Otherwise, your dog will become impatient and training will be unsuccessful.
If you have guests over, don?t forget to let them know the correct way of approaching your dog. As a result, your dog might want to show he is the boss or jump on people who come to your home.
When you begin house training, select a phrase to use repeatedly with your pet. When you are outside with the puppy, say the chosen phrase to keep him focused on the task he is to accomplish.
TIP! When you are working on crate training with your dog or puppy small steps is what works best for them to get used to it. Allow them to feel comfortable in their crate by closing the door and feeding them treats while praising them.
Your dog should be happy with everyone in your home so he does not suffer from separation anxiety. The dog needs to have other people around to get rid of its fixation with you.
Many owners are surprised by how basic dog training can be added to their life and just how fast they can see results. So if you are looking to change any of your dog?s wayward ways, try some of our tips for quick success
